I Feel Like This Isn't Said Enough

I feel this isn't said enough~

Last week, I was chopping about 500 grams of catnip to dry for projects (it's not just for cats!). It was pesticide-free, fresh, and fragrant.

Is that what needs to be known?

Haha, nope.

But this:
Those 500 g of gorgeous catnip, when dried, came to barely 60 grams. That's basically enough for a bag of tea or a bottle of capsules.

That's it. Two big bags of fresh plant reduced to a bag of tea or capsules.

With essential oils, it's even more drastic. 6 pounds of lavender makes only 30 ml of essential oil. Yikes!

Not harvesting herbs at home?That's okay!

But I like to encourage mindful use for all the herbs like teas, beans for coffees, for every careful use of essential oils.

All the work and gifts of the earth, and the people tending and harvesting those plants, and the work to dry them, extract them, whatever them that got them to our kitchens/medicine cabinets.

It reminds this herbalist in a tangible way that I am in fact in connection with the whole earth and everyone on it. That how I consume things matters. For that reason, I make very careful use of every 500 grams that became 60 grams.
